The Cluster of Humanistic AI

Augmenting human capabilities

AI has the potential to replace people as well as the potential to support, educate, and augment them, making them better at their tasks and activities. HUMAI researchers are investigating how AI can be used to improve the quality of an individual’s work in fields such as design, education, human resources, healthcare, and communication.

HUMAI researchers are investigating how AI can be used to improve the quality of an individual’s work in fields such as design, education, human resources, healthcare, and communication.

Project 1: Query Suggestions by the Use of AI

One project funded by the cluster focuses on how AI can be used to improve users’ queries by AI suggested search terms. Already made research suggests that terms suggested either by query completion or individual terms may improve users queries. This project uses the search system 2D search to explore this way of using AI. This is being done with the use of controlled search tests and following interviews with the participants. This is being done with a number of research questions in mind like:

  • What characterize the tasks that used suggestions?
  • What characterize the suggested terms that were used?
  • What characterize the users that used the suggestions?
  • How do the participants assess the suggested terms?

Project 2: AI based matches between jobseekers and job descriptions

Another project within the theme of Augmenting Human Capabilites is our project in collaboration with Jobindex and UCPH on matching jobseekers with the right jobs. The project focuses on the creation of a useful IT tool that can help Jobseekers with exactly this. The tool will be able to better match candidates with jobs based on parameters like job history, place of residence and personal preferences regarding workplace culture. This tool must also be able to generate texts when contacting candidates.

The system will be built on data from approximately 100,000 jobs manually matched by Jobindex and will use this data to accurately match jobs and jobseekers. The project aims to use AI to optimize the process and is supported by the Innovation Fund Denmark with 7 million DKK.
