Knowledge Center

Art, Health and Humanities (NOCKS)

At Art, Health & Humanities at Aalborg University, we focus on how art and cultural experiences can be used to promote health and enhance health literacy.

The knowledge center is engaged in a range of activities focusing on art and health:

  • Generating knowledge about art, culture, and health, including mechanisms of action, effects, experiences, assessment methods, professionalism, intervention development, and ethics.
  • Participating in the establishment, support, and development of research projects where art and cultural experiences are specifically applied to promote public health.
  • Offering professional development courses on using cultural activities to promote health.
  • Organizing theme days and conferences for researchers and practitioners to disseminate knowledge and foster debate on how culture can promote health.
  • Actively participating in political discussions and debates about culture and health.
